Access Card
1. GENERAL
The Promoter of the
Benefits Program is the University of Sydney Union (USU) ABN 73 818 179
759 of Level 5 Holme Building, Science Road, The University of Sydney,
NSW, 2006.
Upon registration for the
card,
you provided us with your personal email address and contact details.
In doing so, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:
- That we have your permission to contact you with relevant information regarding the program, by email or SMS where nominated.
- You may unsubscribe from the program at any time using the unsubscribe function on any email or SMS communication or by contacting The ACCESS Centre.
- You have the right to view and correct or update your personal information by arrangement with The ACCESS Centre.
- Information provided by you will not be shared with any third parties.
- However, USU may share anonymous and aggregated information with current
or prospective Partners for the purposes of securing better offers for
card holders. - Some offers require
card holders to register as a member with third party programs. This is
entirely at your discretion and in doing so you may be communicated with
directly by the third party, which is no longer within the control of
the
Benefits program.
You have the right to unsubscribe from these programs at any time. - All offers are subject to the individual terms and conditions of
the Partner and may change or be cancelled at any time without notice.
Changes will be published as soon as practicably possible on the
Benefits website at www.accessbenefits.com.au.
These can be viewed by clicking on the Partner offer under the Partner
page. - Partner participants in the
Benefits program can change at any time without notice.
- Your
Benefits
Card holdership is valid until and expires on the 31st December each year,
regardless of when you registered. You must re-register on or before the
31st December in each year in order to continue qualifying for benefits
in the following year. - In making a purchase or accepting a Partner offer, you enter into a
contract directly with the Partner concerned and not with USU.
- The amount you pay for your
card is non-refundable after purchase.
2. UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY UNION (USU) MEMBERSHIP
- Current financial members (those who have paid the appropriate annual membership fees) of the University of Sydney
Union (USU) will receive as a benefit of membership, free access to the
Benefits program and the

3. CARD REGISTRATION
- If purchasing via the www.accessbenefits.com.au website or by phone you must collect your
card in person at The ACCESS Centre. If purchasing at The ACCESS Centre or at other
designated sites, you will be issued your
card on site. - You will have your photograph taken. Your card will then be then processed and printed with your photograph on the front. This is to minimise the risk of unauthorised use of your card.
- The
card is non-transferable and cannot be used by another person, even if that person has your authority to do so. - You must hold an
card in order to enjoy the benefits of the
Benefits program.
USU financial members may be required to show their
card as proof of membership. A valid and properly designated
card shall be considered to be proof of membership for those eligible for USU membership. - USU is committed to ensuring that the collection, accuracy, use, disclosure, de-identification and destruction of your details comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and National Principles for the Fair Handling of Personal Information. 4. CARD USE
- All
cardholders are entitled to obtain any applicable discounts for goods or services upon presentation of their
card. Discounts are not available under any circumstances except upon presentation of a valid
card. Cards must be presented at the time of purchase or entry. - Entry into an event is subject to the terms and conditions that apply to that particular event (including any imposed by the promoter of that event or the venue owner). Possession of an
card does not automatically admit a cardholder into that event. - When making purchases online or over the phone, you must submit your
ID. - If you do not present your
card at the time of purchase/entry, then you agree that USU is not liable for any loss or damage you suffer as a result including, without limitation, any claim by you for a refund. - You may only use your
card for your own benefit. You may not transfer your
card or lend or otherwise give your card to another person for their use. - USU reserves the right to cancel your
card and/or your membership in the
Benefits program in the event of unauthorised use. - Your
card may as appropriate be used as proof of USU membership
5.LOST, STOLEN OR DAMAGED
CARDS
- It is your responsibility to take care of your
card and keep it (and your ID) secure. You must notify USU promptly if your
card is lost, stolen or damaged. - USU will replace lost, stolen or damaged cards, but will charge a fee for doing so, regardless of the circumstances.

6. SHOW BAG COMPONENTS
- The
showbag is available in limited quantities as advertised. - Unless the showbag is given to you at the point of purchase you can collect your showbag from The ACCESS Centre by presenting the token issued at the point of purchase.
- Strictly 1 showbag per
cardholder (subject to availability of promotion stock). - Any cardholder who tampers with the showbag process or who attempts to collect more than 1 showbag is disqualified immediately.
- Showbags are available strictly only while stocks last and are issued on a first come first served basis.
- The USU is not liable if any showbag is lost, stolen, damaged or tampered with in any way.
- Showbag offers may change or be cancelled at any time without notice.
- The USU makes every effort to ensure that the showbag material is up to date and accurate at the time of printing, but accepts no liability for any direct or indirect loss or damage arising from use of or reliance on that information, even if it is inaccurate or out of date.
- Showbags cannot be transferred or exchanged under any circumstances.
- Showbag value is calculated on the estimated dollar saving relating to each offer subject to compliance with the applicable offer terms and conditions.
7. LOWEST PRICE GUARANTEE
- Partners displaying the Lowest Price Guarantee (LPG) logo, are committed to giving
cardholders the lowest possible prices. - Specific terms and conditions about LPG's are at the discretion of the Partner concerned. These may change at any time without notice.
- If you purchase an item from an
LPG Partner and find the identical item at a cheaper price elsewhere in Sydney, then you simply need to show or fax proof of the competitor's price and they will happily arrange to refund the applicable price difference to you. They may need to verify that the competitor has identical stock, available for purchase or order, and account for - any delivery costs for a 'total' cost comparison. Sales are limited to reasonable retail quantities.
- LPG terms and conditions may vary between Partners, so please check with the Partner first.
8.
INFORMATION AND PRIVACY
- USU may use your personal information to keep you informed of special promotions, events, discounts and free offers. You will be contacted via email and/or SMS where applicable and optioned. You may opt out of these communications paths at any time.
- You may access your personal information you have provided to USU by emailing The ACCESS Centre (info@usu.usyd.edu.au) and arranging a suitable time to do so.
- Your personal information will NOT be disclosed to any third party, and will not be used by parties other than staff of USU, without first obtaining your express permission.
- USU will take all reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is protected from unauthorised access, misuse, modification and disclosure while stored or transmitted by us.
- If USU already holds any personal information about you, this is because it was obtained from The University of Sydney with your authorisation when you enrolled with the University, by other means of authorisation, or because it was existing information obtained with permission through your previous
card registration. - USU will use your de-identified information for the purposes of planning, research, marketing and product and service development as the organisation aims to keep its services and activities relevant and inspiring.
