ABOUT SEYMOUR
Located in the heart of the University of Sydney, the Seymour Centre is a true centre for performance – on any given night you might experience a major concert for 800 in our
York Theatre, a dramatic play, a solo comedian or the most innovative music in our intimate Sound Lounge.
We present a diverse range of the best of contemporary performing arts including participation in some of this city’s major arts festivals such as the iconic Sydney Festival. We are also home to four innovative performance companies who all present work in the Centre: SIMA Jazz, Shaun Parker and Co; Chronology Arts; and Critical Stages.
As part of the University of Sydney we host a vibrant program of University events and student performances, ranging from lectures by leading world thinkers as part of the Sydney Ideas Program to presenting the annual student revue season.
The Seymour is also committed to partnering with small and emerging companies to develop and present innovative independent performance. This year we present The Reginald, a new program of curated works by some of Australia’s best small and emerging performance companies.

For three weeks every April and May, hundreds of the world’s funniest comedians take to stages across Sydney to entertain an audience of more than 85,000 people.
